This book details the exercises and styling of modern dance using Laban notation. Laban notation is introduced in part 1 and is used throughout the book to detail the positioning and placement of the body in various exercises and movements. Stick figures are used to supplement the notation in the beginning chapters of the book, but are later omitted as the reader gains more experience in Laban notation. For those learning Laban notation, and for those interested in the more technical/mathematical aspects of modern dance, this book makes for sound reading. So much can be obtained from reading this book, and for so little cost in purchasing.

I greatly enjoyed the book The Money is the Gravy. I have struggled with the question of career versus self-actualization for more than twenty years. For most of that time I have been in the real estate business. I became proficient in my business yet never found joy in it.

Sometimes I felt like I had been working on a 5,000-piece jigsaw puzzle without the box lid that has the picture of the finished puzzle-The Money is the Gravy was the box lid with the picture on top of it. The picture of the puzzle was on page 68. X marks the spot where skill, meaning, and enjoyment converge.

I have finally accepted there will be little joy as long as I am in an ill-fitting occupation.

You will enjoy Clarks "voice" and the way he uses subtle humor, cartoons, pull quotes and many historical references. This is a style I enjoy reading.

I highly recommend this book. Don't wait twenty years to figure it out like I did. Books about making money are plentiful--this one tells you how to be happy and make money.

I've been saying for years that I would rather be doing something else. But here I am, still a lawyer. I haven't actually made any changes because something has always held me back.

I've read some career change books. They've either overwhelmed me with their length or turned me off with simplistic new age messages. The other problem is that most careers books seem to be written by ex-theologians or life coaches who have had little experience of the business world.

"The Money Is The Gravy" is unlike any of these. John Clark is from the business world. I get the feeling he has experienced what I'm going through. He unites ideas drawn from many different fields, and gets across very profound themes, often using humour, cartoons, etc. So this is a career change book, but a lot more too. It's a whole approach to life.

Basically what the book has done is give me an intellectually credible framework for moving forward and making changes in my career. Plus the book has engaged me at an emotional and spiritual level.

My guess is that this book is destined to become a classic among professionals who don't like their careers much. There is wisdom and inspiration on every page. If you're like me, you'll read it in one sitting, then want to read it again, slowly.

This is a book I have lent to several people to introduce them to the complex world of dissociative identity disorder, (formerly called multiple personality disorder). Those who have read it have come to a sound, positive understanding of the disorder. Through its gentle treatment of the topic, the fears of others have been allayed and I have been able to show others my true selves. The book is an easy, fast read, written for the general public. I'm sad to find that the book is out-of-print; it has been a great resource!

Reminiscent of Where the Wild Things Are, insatiable Billy gets mad at his mom's limit setting (he wants more of everything) and goes to a magical land with a lion. He plays until he finally gets his fill, and like Sendak's Max, misses his mom and returns to his own bed. Beautifully illustrated. If you liked Where the Wild Thing Are, you'll enjoy More!

An important review of heart disease from fetal life through adolescence. Very well written and quite clear and complete. No reference library on congenital heart disease is complete without this book

This provides the only unexpurgated publication of this excellent fantasy/horror tale. Highly recommended.

This is an excellent guide to planning and designing a functional kitchen, most useful for those who spend a lot of time cooking. The photos, decorations, and cabinetry displayed are outdated, but the focus is on kitchen design for practical uses. We relied heavily on the author's principles in bulding a kitchen (in 1992) for our 1906 home, and we've been quite happy. Sections on building cabinets & drawers are interesting but not as well done as some more recent publications.

In Diaries, Alan Clark gives us an entertaining look at his life in politics during the Thatcher era. A politician of fortunate background, Clark is candid and often indiscreet. Happier to be a reckless read rather that an imperious tome, Clark lets us examine his view of politics -disdain of his constituents from Devon and the necessary machinations required to reach higher office. Though Clark never reached the cabinet position he craved, he led an active life in Thatcher's administration most notably in the Defence Department and the DTI, ending up achieving another dream of becoming a Privy Councillor. As a look at the privileged lifestyle of some of Britain's MPs and their reflections on being "servants" of the people who had voted them into Parliament, the Diaries are a gallop through the political history of the period of 1983 to 1991. Spiced with mentions of infidelity (both real and desired), blunders the Duke of Edinburgh would be proud of (calling an emerging African nation Bongo-Bongo land) and Brutus like stabs in the back of colleagues, Clark is highly readable and thoroughly enjoyable. I just wanted a bit more of an explanation about "the coven"

I think it was a very good book,with lots of good ideas.A great way of keeping mementos of your pet. I really like this book.

This Book is a great biography of Country Music Genuis Roy Clark spanning his life and career.Roy Clark is a superb musician with a witty sense of humor and great character.Hopefully someday,there will be a video biography about this country music legend.Roy Clark Rules!!
